Age Calculator — Find Your Exact Age in Years, Months and Days

Our free age calculator tells you exactly how old you are down to the day — plus shows your age in weeks, total days, hours, and even minutes. Enter your date of birth and instantly see your precise age, when your next birthday is, and what day of the week you were born on.

How to Use This Age Calculator

Calculate Your Age Today

Enter your date of birth using the date picker. The calculator automatically sets today as the end date and instantly displays your exact age in years, months, and days. No Calculate button needed — results appear the moment you enter your birthday.

Calculate Age Between Two Dates

To find the age or time difference between any two dates, change the second date field from today to any date you choose. This is useful for calculating someone's age at a specific historical moment, or finding how much time has passed between two events.

How Age Is Calculated

Age calculation sounds simple but involves several nuances that our calculator handles automatically:

  • Years — A full year is counted each time the anniversary of the birth date is reached. If today is April 28 and your birthday is May 15, you have not yet completed another year.
  • Months — After the full years are counted, the remaining months are tallied. A month is complete when the same day number is reached in the next month.
  • Days — The remaining days after full months are counted give the final precise age.
  • Leap years — February 29 birthdays are handled correctly. In non-leap years, the birthday is recognized on February 28 or March 1 depending on convention — our calculator uses February 28.

What Day of the Week Were You Born?

Many people are curious about what day of the week they were born on. Our calculator tells you instantly. The day of the week is calculated using a standard algorithm that accounts for the Gregorian calendar, including all historical leap years. Here are some fun facts about birth days:

  • Statistically, more babies are born on Tuesdays and Wednesdays than any other day in the US — this is largely because planned C-sections and inductions are scheduled on weekdays.
  • Fewer babies are born on weekends, particularly Sundays, which is historically the least common birth day.
  • If you were born on a Saturday or Sunday, you were likely a natural, unscheduled birth.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Time zones at birth — midnight boundaries can shift the calendar day for international births.
  • Leap years — day counts include Feb 29 when present in the range.
  • Legal age vs chronological — some laws use date-of-birth rules, not rounded years.
